THE LORD IS YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

Jeremiah 23:5-6 (NKJV)

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

As a believer in Christ, you have a superior kind of righteousness. God wants you to know that He is your righteousness. By your faith in Christ, God has given you His righteousness as a gift, (Rom.5:17). Have you received this gift? God does not give you His righteousness because you obey the Law. He gives His righteousness to all who put faith in Jesus, (Rom.3:21-22). Do you understand what you are saying whenever you quote 2Corinthians 5:21? – “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” The Good News Bible says, “Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.”

Christ took your place by dying for you on the Cross and now He has given you His place. He has given you His life and His righteousness. By putting your faith in Jesus, you become as righteous as Christ is. Christ has become your righteousness. God looks at Christ to determine how righteous you are. The Bible says, “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” (1Cor.1:30-31, NIV). This consciousness will make you bold and able to live right.

Faith Declaration:
Christ is my righteousness. By my faith in Christ, I have received the gift of God’s righteousness. Halleluyah!
