THE MERCY OF GOD IS STILL AVAILABLE

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not”. Lamentations 3:21-22 (KJV)

It is so easy to forget the promises of God to you. Many times, we are so consumed with the negative that we fail to see the bigness of God. It is very important, therefore, that we remember the promises of God. You see, the promises are not telling you what God wants to do, they are telling you what God has already perfected in eternity. Completed and validated in the blood.

In his lamentation and weeping, Jeremiah suddenly remembered, the mercy of God that reaches out to humanity. He remembered the mercy of God amid his depression and frustration. He remembered that mercy has said no. He remembered that mercy will continue to say no, no matter the circumstance.

Today I have come to remind you that mercy is still available. Mercy is the Hebrew word that talks about the loving-kindness of God. Mercy is God not giving you what you deserve. You deserve to be condemned, you deserve to be accused and you deserve not to have an answer, but mercy says no I will give you an answer.

I wonder how we will survive without mercy. I wonder how we will live this life without mercy. And the beautiful thing is that when mercy steps in, everything changes. Mercy is a game changer! I know that some people feel they are too good. Some people like to flaunt their credentials and all they have achieved. “I prayed this, I did this”! They are braggadocious and arrogant. But I have found out that I need mercy every day. I see myself failing every day and I say to myself how can I succeed if God has not been merciful unto me.

You must understand that when we talk about mercy, we are talking about a person. Jesus is our mercy. And he has given His life for you. What else can He not do for you? Even when things are bad before you went to bed, by the time you wake up, here comes his mercy, and here comes His compassion fresh. From glory to glory. From grace to grace. The mercy of God shall speak on your behalf in every area of your life.
