The Original Plan

BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 17-20

TEXT: “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” Jeremiah 6 :16.

God has planned what he wants us to do even before we were formed in our mother’s womb, Jeremiah 1 :5.

Abraham warned the eldest servant in the house because he understands what it means to follow the original plan of God. Genesis 24 :6; “And Abraham said unto him,
Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.” being aware of the covenant God has, to bless Abraham and his seed in the land. Gen. 17 :8; “And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Jacob needed to be more careful not to leave the original plan, his singular act of moving his family to Egypt brought about generational captivity because he left the master plan.

Also Naomi left Bethlehem full with her husband and two sons, that step cost her everything she had in life, because she left the original plan of God for her. Ruth 1 :20;’ And she said unto them, call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath death very bitterly with me’. Child of God, are you still working with the plan of God for your life? Maybe the reason you are struggling is because you are not working in line with the original plan.

Our anchor text says for you to find rest for your soul, ask for the old path, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest, of you want rest, follow the original plan is where God’s thoughts for you will find expression. God says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29 :11.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, Lord help me to follow the original plan for my life.
