THE PASSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (2)

HEBREWS 12:2(TPT)

We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our grace unto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into Faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered it’s humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!

Jesus glorified God on earth by completing all that God asked him to do (John 17:4). He was passionate about God’s harvest and He rejoiced in revealing God’s mind to His disciples , taught them, prayed for them and served them. Jesus loved righteousness and hated iniquity(Hebrews 1:9). He was tempted in every way, yet He did not sign (Hebrews 4:15) ( Had he not had the ability to fall into sin, it would not have been called a temptation. ).

When He was on the earth, Jesus was willing to do the will of God the Father no matter the cost. It took a lot of sacrifice for Him to come down to earth as a man, but after this great sacrifice, He was still willing to suffer and die a shameful death on the Cross, just to carry out God’s will of saving us and restoring us to His realm of glory (Philippians 2:5-8, Hebrews 2:10).

While praying in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was overwhelmed by the great suffering and painful death that He was about to face, yet He yielded His will up for the will of God the Father to be done ( Matthew 26:37-39). You are the joy that was set before Him as He endured the pain of the Cross and despised all the shame that He faced. Your redemption gave Him so much joy.

Prayer:
I thank You , Lord for the great love and sacrifice Jesus showed for me and for doing your will. Fill my heart with this same attitude.

Bible In One Year Reading Plan:
Isaiah 44-48.
