FRIDAY AUGUST 27

The Pathway to All Fruitfulness

Colossians 1:9-10(NLT), James 1:25(LB)

So we have not stopped praying for you… We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honour and please the Lord and your lives will produce any kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. But if anyone keeps looking steadily into God’s law for free men, he will not only remember it but he will do what it says and God will greatly bless him in everything he does.

From our first text above, we see that when we live in a way that honours and pleases God, our lives will produce every kind of good fruit. The ways of God are profitable both in this life and in the life to come.(1 Timothy 4:8). We need to remain excited about pleasing God and walking in His ways because as we do so, we’re not wasting our time. On the contrary, we are activating God’s grace and blessings into every area of our lives. We walk in God’s ways when we are filled with the knowledge of God’s will and with Spiritual wisdom and understanding.

We are filled with that knowledge of His will and with Spiritual wisdom and understanding when God fills us with the revelation of Christ. The Bible assures us that Christ is the wisdom and the power of God (1Corinthians 1:24). “He is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3, GNB.) The perfect law of liberty or as our second text above puts it- ‘God’s law for free men’- is the revelation of Christ. We must be consistent in the revelation of Christ. Our second text above confirms that as you steadily look into the revelation of Christ, you will remember it, do what it says and be blessed in everything you do.

As you focus on Christ and fill yourself with his revelation, you will begin to act in line with it and the glory and the blessings of God will be activated in all areas of your life- not just your spiritual life. You will keep knowing God better and you will keep growing. It is only Jesus that can perfectly reveal God the Father to us. (John 1:18, Hebrew 1:3).

Keep your focus on Christ and keep receiving and acting in line with His Truth concerning you

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I receive your grace to keep filling myself with the revelation of Christ. Help me to think, speak and act in line with your truth.
