THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Philippians 2:9-10a (TPT), Matthew 28:18 (GNB)

Because of that obedience, God exalted him and multiplied his greatness! He has now been given the greatest of all names! The authority of the name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in reverence! Everything and everyone will one day submit to this name…*Jesus drew near and said to them, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

It is one thing to understand the power in the name of Jesus and it is yet another to understand that as a child of God, this power has now been given to you.

The name of Jesus is not the alphabets J.E.S.U.S. There are actually other people who are called Jesus. The name of Jesus we are referring to is the authority of the Son of God, who came down to this earth to suffer and die for our sins, was buried and was raised up again for our salvation. All the authority that this Jesus has, has now been delegated to you and me. We are representing Him. We are His ambassadors and we are one with Him. He is the Head and we are the Body. Everything in life now responds to us the same way they respond to Jesus, because Jesus has given us His authority. Jesus has sent us just as the Father sent Him, (John 17:18).

Even God the Father now responds to us the same way He responds to Jesus, (John 16:26-27). To pray in the name of Jesus is not just about mentioning the name of Jesus as you pray, it is to pray with the same authority as Jesus. It is to pray as if it is Jesus Himself praying. God wants us to say and do everything with the name/authority of Jesus, (Col.3:17). When we do this, we are unstoppable.

Action Point:
Thank God for the authority of Jesus that has been delegated to you. Pray to God in that authority right now.
