THE POWER OF FINDING WHAT IS WRITTEN OF YOU (2)

Luke 24:25-27 (AMPC)

And [Jesus] said to them, O foolish ones […] and slow of heart to believe (…) everything that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary …that the Christ (the Messiah) should suffer all these things before entering into His glory (…)? Then beginning with Moses and […] all the Prophets, He went on explaining and interpreting to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning and referring to Himself.

In our study yesterday, we saw how throughout His arrest, torture and crucifixion ordeal, Jesus was not moved like the disciples were, because He knew what was written of Him. Do you know the most amazing thing about it all? The disciples did not know that everything that was happening to Jesus was happening to Him for their sake; and also for you and me.

“Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.” (1Pet.1:10-12).

All the things the prophets wrote in the scriptures are about how you will experience the grace and glory of God because of Christ. You are the joy that was set before Him (Heb.12:2). Jesus was able to go through the cross because He saw you experiencing His grace and glory.

Prayer:
Dear Father, as I study the scriptures, please open my eyes to the things that will make me experience the grace and glory of Christ.
