THE POWER OF LIVING FROM WITHIN
Philippians 4:10-13 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
God did not design us to live our lives from the outside but we were designed to live from the inside. God does not want our lives to be controlled by the things that go on outside us. He wants our lives to be controlled by what is going on inside us. First of all, our real identity does not come from our flesh or anything external, (2Cor.5:16-17). Our real identity comes from our inside – who we are in Christ. We are new creatures and right now, we are one with Christ on our inside, (1Cor.6:17). As He is so are we in this world. The Bible says even though it does not look like it on the outside (physically), right now, we are sons of God just like Christ, (1John 3:2).

We are different from the people of this world. We have a higher life and God wants this higher life inside us to control the way that we think, speak and act. God has loaded us on the inside with all things we need for life and godliness, (2Pet.1:3). He has filled us with His glorious riches and the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in us, (Eph.1:18-20). Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, (1John 4:4). God Himself is at work in us by His Spirit, making us willing and able to do His good will, (Phil.2:13).
Your spirit is the real you. Your body is just a container and a suit by which you function on the earth. Don’t let your body and its senses and emotions control. Follow the leading of God’s Spirit. When you do this, you will not be vulnerable to situations and circumstances around you. Rather from God’s wisdom, strength and abundance within you, you will dominate what is happening around you and you will keep being all God wants you to be. You will remain joyful and victorious. Continually feed and build your spirit.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for who you have made me, all you have given me and all you are doing on my inside. Help me to live from my inside.
