The Revelation of Christ and the Peace of God

John 14:26-27 (GNB) … the Holy Spirit, … will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you. Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.

2 Peter 1:2 (AMP) May grace (God’s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

The state of your life is greatly determined and influenced by the thoughts of your heart. IN Proverbs 4:23, the Bible says “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” If you want the peace of God to prevail in your life, then you must let the revelation of Christ fill your heart, Col. 3:16. Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you that you might have peace,” John 16:33. Fill your heart with the revelation of who Christ is and the wonderful things that He has done for you by His suffering, death and resurrection. If you want the peace of God to prevail in your life, you must be ready to arrest and cast down every imagination and high thing that wants to exalt itself above the knowledge or truth of Christ concerning you, 2 Cor. 10:5. You can only do this by declaring the revelation of Christ to yourself. When contrary thoughts try to arise in you.

In Isaiah 26:3, the Bible says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” The Bible shows us that great peace is a function of loving and being taught God’s law or word (Psa. 119:165, Isa. 54:13). While they had to meditate on the law to succeed in the Old Testament (Josh. 1:8, Psa. 1:2-3), we are blessed to be able to meditate on the revelation of God’s grace in the New Testament, Acts 20:32. The grace of God and the peace of God go hand in hand. Your understanding of God’s grace fills your life more and more with God’s peace. It is the revelation of Christ that cause you to understand and be conscious of God’s grace. “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”, John 1:17. The Holy Spirit will help you to understand and remember the revelation of Christ. Rely on Him. The grace and peace of Christ will continue to increase and prevail in your life, Isa. 9:7a.

Prayer Focus:

Pray in the Spirit and receive the help of the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with the revelation of Christ and the grace of God.
