Memorise: He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. Proverbs 28:19

Bible Reading: Mathew 13:3-8

  1. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
  2. And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
  3. Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
  4. And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
  5. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
  6. But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

Bible Reading In One Year: 2 Chronicles 10-12; John 13:18-38

MESSAGE:

From our Bible reading, we see that the sowers initial efforts were wasted. However, in spite of the initial loss, he continued to sow. Never be tired of making efforts until your goal.

Ecclesiastes 11:6 says you should sow at different periods of the day. As long as you never allow discouragement to set in, you will end up you reach with something good.

Good initiatives sometimes meet with setbacks but always remember that it is todays efforts that will determine tomorrows harvest. No effort, no harvest.

The quality of the tomorrow you will have is largely dependent on the quality and quantity of efforts you make today, backed up by God. The secret of the sowers success was sustained efforts.

Do you know that if you continue to make efforts in different areas of your lite, you will end up celebrating?. How is your effort at school, in your family, church and walk with God?. Relentlessly work at doubling your efforts and you will live a victorious and impactful life.

Point:

If your effort towards success is not commensurate with your expected level of success, you are setting yourself up for disappointments.

Hymn 6:

  1. There shall be showers of blessing:
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

  1. There shall be showers of blessing-
    Precious reviving again;
    Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.
  2. There shall be showers of blessing;
    Send them upon us, O Lord!
    Grant to us now a refreshing;
    Come, and now honor Thy Word.
  3. There shall be showers of blessing;
    that today they might fall,
    Now as to God we’re confessing,
    Now as on Jesus we call!
  4. There shall be showers of blessing,
    If we but trust and obey;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    If we let God have His way.
