THE SPIRIT AND LIFE OF THE REVELATION OF CHRIST

John 6:63 (NKJV, GNB, MSG)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. *What gives life is God’s Spirit; human power is of no use at all. The words I have spoken to you bring God’s life-giving Spirit. *The Spirit can make life. Sheer muscle and willpower don’t make anything happen. Every word I’ve spoken to you is a Spirit-word, and so it is life-making.

The revelation of Christ is not ordinary. It is supernatural. Whenever you are receiving or sharing the Gospel you are not dealing with just mere words. You are dealing with the supernatural power of God. Paul said he was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God that brings about God’s divine intervention in our lives, (Rom.1:16).

When we are referencing the word of God, we are talking about the Gospel or the revelation of Christ. Who Christ is and all He has done for us by His death, burial and resurrection. Jesus is the word of God (John 1:1, 14) and all scripture points to Him. It is only as we see how all scriptures relate to Jesus and His work of redemption that we receive the life contained in the scriptures, (John 5:39-40).

God’s word is Spirit and Life. Every time you expose yourself to the revelation of Christ, you are exposing yourself to the Spirit and Life of God. You’re bringing your life under the influence of the Spirit and Life of God. Alcoholic drinks are called spirits and when they are consumed in abundance they can bring people under their influence. As you consume the revelation of Christ in abundance (Col.3:16), it will bring you under the influence of the Spirit and Life of God.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you that by the revelation of Christ filling my life, your Spirit and Life influence and prevail over my life.
