The sticking point

“Why do you seek the living One among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” – Luke 24:5-7

One of the world’s largest container ships was recently stuck in the Suez Canal, halting global trade for six days at a cost of 9 billion dollars per day. Like that ship, many people get stuck on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Born at Christmas? Okay. Died on the cross for our sins? Okay. Rose from the dead? Stuck. They can’t get past it. But thanks to historical forensic evidence and hundreds of eyewitness accounts, this “sticking point” is the most established event in antiquity.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ validates all of His claims, His teachings, His miracles, His very life as recorded in the proven truth of God’s Word. Therefore, because Christ has risen, those of us in Him have the assurance that we too shall rise and spend eternity with Him … which leaves me with only one more word – Hallelujah!
