THE TESTIMONY OF OVERCOMERS

REVELATION 12:11(KJV, TPT, GNB, MSG)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…. They conquered him completely through the blood of the Lamb and the powerful word of his testimony…. They won the victory over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the truth which they proclaimed;… They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold words of their mouth…..

The word testimony in the Bible does not refer to how a person tells others about a miracle or something good God has done for them. Though doing this is good and has its place, the word ‘testimony’ in the Bible refers to an instruction or message from God.

God said to Moses “And thou shall put into the ark of the testimony which I shall give the exodus “(25:16). And he gave unto Moses…. two tables of testimony tables of stone written with the finger of God (Exodus 31: 18).
Psalm 19:7 declares ” The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul , the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Psalms 132:12 says “if they children will keep my convenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for ever.”

Referring to the Gospel, Paul said ” And I, brethren, when I come to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God,’ ( 1 Cor 2:1). In the Old Testament, the law was the testimony of God ( 1 Cor 2:11). In the Old Testament, the law was the testimony of God, while in the New Testament, the Gospel is the testimony of God. Christ overcame the devil for us by His death (blood) ( Hebrews 2:14), and as we declare what the Gospel says about us, we enforce our victory over the devil for he is defeated already.

Action Point:
Thank God for the victory, the blood of Christ has given you over the devil and declare what the Gospel says about you in Christ.
