We are all familiar with the account of David and Goliath. Remember how, when David went out to fight the giant, King Saul insisted that David put on his royal armor. But David said, “I cannot go with these, for I have not tested them.” Don’t try to fight your battles in somebody else’s armor. That’s the point. You are unique. God created you by prescription, and He has a plan for what you are to become by His grace.

Don’t try to imitate someone else. David was wise enough to say, “I can’t fight in this armor.” In the battles you will face in this life, don’t trust any armor other than the armor of God.
