THE UNUSUAL BOLDNESS OF DANIEL

Daniel 2:12-16 (CEV)

…the king…gave orders for every wise man…to be put to death, including Daniel and his three friends. Arioch was…in charge of putting the wise men to death. He was on his way to have it done, when Daniel very wisely…asked, “Why did the king give such cruel orders?” After Arioch explained…Daniel rushed off and said to the king, “If you will just give me some time, I’ll explain your dream.”

Daniel took a very bold step by going to the king to ask for some time to tell the king his dream and the meaning of his dream. Why was Daniel so sure that he could do such a thing? This boldness may not have been only a matter of faith. It may have also been a matter of experience. Daniel must have faced some difficult and almost impossible similar tasks in the past, where he had to go to God in prayers and God revealed the answer or solution to him.

Joseph had interpreted the dream of a prisoner before, so he knew that God could help him interpret the dream of the king of Egypt. He had faith in God, but he also had some experience. David had faced and killed a lion and a bear. He had faith in God, but his experience with the lion and bear increased his boldness to face Goliath. Why do you think Mary was so bold to tell the servants at the wedding in Cana to just do whatever Jesus told them? She must have seen Him do a similar miracle at home, when one of their supplies ran out. Peter and John had an unusual boldness that came from the encounters and experiences they had from their time with Jesus, (Acts 4:13). Maximize every opportunity you have right now to exercise your faith in God. That experience will enhance your boldness and build your capacity for the greater things God will use you for tomorrow.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to maximize every opportunity I have to exercise my faith in you.
