The Wonderful Things the Gospel Reveals

Romans 1:16-18 (GNB)
I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God’s power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles. For the gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself: it is through faith from beginning to end. As the scripture says, “The person who is put right with God through faith shall live.” God’s anger is revealed from heaven against all the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways prevent the truth from being known.

The gospel of Christ reveals the great and wonderful love of God. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17). The gospel reveals how loving and passionate God is to save and help man by manifesting His glory and power. For after man fall, man could not save or help himself. Man need a saviour to take away his sin. Instead of punishing and destroying man for his sins God decided to send Jesus to die for the sins of man in other to save and rescue man. Oh! What a love.

The gospel reveals the righteousness of God. God has made His righteousness available to all who believe in Jesus. By putting our faith in what God did for us through the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Christ, our old nature is destroyed and we receive God’s perfect life and righteous nature that enables us to live like God on this earth. Now, we can stand boldly before God, man, any situation and the devil without any guilt or inferiority. Christ became sin for us so that we can share in God’s righteous nature (2Cor.5:21, GNB). The righteousness of God gives us a right to the glory, power and the blessings of God.

The gospel reveals the way out of the wrath of God. When Jesus returns, the wrath and judgement of God will come upon all who do not have a relationship with God and have rejected the gospel (2Thes.1:8). Ephesians 5:6 reveals to us that the wrath of God will come upon the children of disobedience. This is not God’s desire for any man. This is the reason God sent Jesus and why we preach the gospel.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please help me to grow in my understanding of the gospel and use me more and more to preach the gospel to others.
