THE WORD OF GOD CAN BE TRUSTED

“By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,” Hebrews 11:17 (KJV)

Isaac was Abraham’s son; he grew up as a young man full of energy and was brought up in the things of God. One day God said Abraham I want you to take your son, your only son, the one you love and sacrifice him unto Me. Think of it, God was specific, because naturally, it is easier to sacrifice Ishmael, but God said, Isaac. However, Abraham had walked with God enough to know that God can be trusted. Yes, it was hard, but He knew that God can be trusted, and he walked in obedience.

The next morning, without consulting with anyone, Abraham took Isaac and saddled his ass off he went for the sacrifice. To show that he meant it, he went with the wood and when Isaac asked the father where the lamb for the offering is, he answered, God will provide for himself a lamb, in other words, my part is to obey, God will do His because He can be trusted.

Child of God, are you ready to walk in total obedience in 2023? The race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the strong. It is not of him that wills or runs, it is of the Lord that shows mercy. So don’t try arguing or bargaining with God, decide to obey Him every step of the way. Back to the story of Abraham, the fact is that the ram was there before Abraham got there, but until he obeyed, he could not see it. Jehovah Jireh literally means “in the mount of the Lord, it shall be seen”. Beloved, you cannot see the miracle if you do not come up to the mountain of obedience.

As you enter into the new year, enter with a determination to obey. Follow God every step of the way and you will see the coming year answer to you.

It is my prayer that 2023 will be your best year yet. All that the Lord has planned in store for you will come to pass in Jesus’ name.
