THE WORKS OF THE SPIRIT IN THE LIFE OF JESUS

Luke 4:1 (NIV, AMPC), Acts 10:38

Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness Then Jesus, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led in [by] the [Holy] Spirit.How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

The reason we need to study how the life of Jesus was severally influenced by the Holy Spirit, is because the Holy Spirit wants to influence us in the very same way. As a man, Jesus could not operate successfully on the earth without the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit usually led Jesus to places that He needed to go and empowered Him to say and do what He needed to say and do. The Bible says, “…Before he was taken up, he gave instructions by the power of the Holy Spirit to the men he had chosen as his apostles,” (Acts 1:2b, GNB). It was by the Spirit that Jesus perceived and knew things that were in the hearts of people, (Luke 5:22). It was by the Spirit that Jesus always knew what to do, (John 6:6). It was by the Spirit that God anointed Jesus with power to go about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. Jesus did great exploits by the Spirit. It was by the Spirit that Jesus always saw and did what the Father was doing, (John 5:19). It was by the Spirit that Jesus offered Himself without spot to God, (Heb.9:14). The entire life and ministry of Jesus were empowered and orchestrated by the Spirit. It was also by the Spirit that Jesus was raised from the dead, (Rom.8:11).

Beloved, this same Spirit is alive and at work in you always!

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you that just as the Holy Spirit operated in the life of Jesus severally, He is also at work in my life always
