“THERE ARE NO SEQUELS.”
“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.” – HEBREWS 9:2700:0001:36
During a Hollywood awards show, the host was teasing the gathered stars about their glamorous appearance. He went on to say they were all going to grow old and die one day and there would be no sequels! There was laughter and the ceremony continued. Although it was meant to be humorous, the remark was only half true, and there was nothing funny about it.
Our verse reminds us that yes, we all will die… but there actually IS a sequel. It’s called eternity. And when it comes to that divine appointment for our sequel, I’m reminded of the opening line of a classic poem: “Only one life, ‘twill soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last.” So let me encourage you to focus your influence on making a difference for Christ today. In doing so, you can impact eternity.
