THERE IS A WELL IN THAT WILDERNESS
Genesis 21:14-19 (NLT) …
Abraham got up early the next morning, prepared food and a container of water, and strapped them on Hagar’s shoulders. Then he sent her away with their son, and she wandered aimlessly in the wilderness…. When the water was gone, she put the boy in the shade of a bush. … “I don’t want to watch the boy die,” she said, as she burst into tears. But God … called to Hagar from heaven …Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants.” Then God opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well full of water.
I believe that what God is about to do in our lives and in our nation is similar to what He did in the life of Hagar in our text above. Hagar suddenly found herself in a complicated situation and before she knew it, things degenerated even more to the point that all their resources ran out and she felt her life and that of her son were going to end. In that seemingly hopeless situation, God stepped in and gave her hope. God told her not to give up on her son because He was going to make a great nation out of him. God then opened her eyes and she saw a well, right there in the wilderness.
Beloved, our God and Father is about to do something new thing in our lives and in our nation. Despite all that has happened and how we have found ourselves in this situation, God in His infinite mercy has stepped in and He is going to bring us out of it. Do not give up on our beloved nation. God has given this nation to us and He is going to use us to make this nation great.
Stop complaining and being dejected because of what you are going through, what people may have done to you or because of the state of our nation. As we cry out to God concerning our lives and our nation, I see God divinely opening our eyes to the wells of resources, ideas and solutions that we will need to move forward and make this nation a great one. The well was already there. All that Hagar needed was for her eyes to be opened to it. God has already abundantly provided solutions for all our challenges. All we need is for our eyes to be opened. I see God opening the eyes of those in authority at all levels and I see things that we did not think were possible becoming possible for us.
Prayer Focus:
Thank God for the great and abundant solution He has provided for our lives and our nation. Ask Him to open our eyes to see them.
