BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 1-2; Matthew 1

MESSAGE:

Welcome to year 2020!

“15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:15-16

In this New Year, I will like you to make the above scriptures your watch word. The word ‘careful’ describes the behaviour of someone who ensures he/she avoids potential danger and also that of someone who pays close attention to whatever he/she is doing or about to do. So, in other words, the counsel in the Bible verse above is that you should think of the possible consequences of any move you are about to make. If you want to gist or see a movie when you should be studying your books, think about the failure that action will result in. When a boy is asking you to be his girlfriend, think about the result of such of a relationship and how it can affect your future negatively, then make the decision to say “No”. Think carefully before you visit that “dirty” website in your phone. Think carefully so that you don’t become a victim of the devil in this New Year.

I want you to make certain decisions that will guide you in this New Year and beyond. Decide that you will not hang out with bad friends, go to any party or gathering where other teenagers are committing sin, and you will study hard to become the overall best student in your class. These are the decisions that help you to live like a wise teenager this year.

KEY POINT:

This year, always think carefully before you act.

Hymn 7

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.

4.Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.

5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
