TIME IS LIFE-2

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the concluding part of this teaching. Previously, we examined Time Is Life, and I gave the definition and basics of time. Today, we shall be examining the second part of the topic; we shall be considering avenues through which we can develop an intimate relationship with God. To develop an intimate relationship with God, we must deliberately make ourselves available through deep Word study, prayer life and constant fellowshipping with Him.

HARNESSING YOUR TIME FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS

  1. Invest your Time. Invest time, don’t spend it. The Word says: Redeeming the time, because the days are evil (Ephesians 5: 16; Colossians 4:5). Let every use of your time be an investment. Time is a precious and priceless currency, and it is meant to be invested, not spent. So carry the consciousness of dividends at the end of your wise use of time. Planning one’s timeinvolves designing, setting out, arranging, devising and strategising your time to yield maximum dividends. This literally means having an action or game plan.

Among others, effective planning tools are; engaging the mind creatively and penning down your thoughts on paper (Proverbs 4:23; Habakkuk 2:2). Know what to do per time, how to do it and when to do it. Most importantly, wisdom is your chief planning tool. You need divine wisdom, and you can ask God for it. You can practice the following wisdom steps for maximum use of your time: Assess your present schedule, set your goals and prioritise what need to be done per time.

  • Work your Plan.A wise man said, “Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow.”
  • Assess your Progress on a Regular Basis.Make adjustments in areas that need to be worked on. The Word says: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates (2 Corinthians13:5).
  • Ask for God’s Help. You can pray like the Psalmist in Psalm 31:15My times are in thy hand… In other words, strengthen me to make the best use of the times and seasons of my life.
  • Give God the best of your time, and He will see to it that it is not wasted.

Therefore, avoid time wasters like Laziness, having no target, no centre of attention, gossip and indecision. What are the things you gain when time is maximised to the full? Accomplishment, satisfaction, value-adding personality and wisdom (Ecclesiastes 3:1; Ephesians 5:16; Psalm 90:12). What you invest is what time will yield for you, so make the most of it always; time waits for no one. Being the master of your time means getting more done, staying energised and doing more things you enjoy.

There is a right time for everything on the earth. Therefore, to utilise your time maximally and meaningfully, you need the help of God. To experience the help from above, you need to be born again. If you are not born again, please say this prayer of faith: Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Precious Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the Living God. From today, Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I am Born Again.
