Memorise: My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:2-3

Read: Ephesians 5:10-18

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Bible In One Year: Proverbs 21-22, 2 Corinthians 4

MESSAGE:

Being a true child of God attracts blessings, so also does it attract attacks from the enemy. When you are truly a child of God, you are bound to face some challenges spiritually and physically. If you are not ignorant of the devices of the enemy, then you will be prepared, thereby you will be a victor rather than a victim.

When you are seriously working for God, especially through soul winning, you automatically become a bomb to the kingdom of darkness that they want to curtail. Therefore, you must ensure that you are justly walking with God and not living a double standard life. It is also very important that you guard yourself with the full armour of God (Ephesian 6:10-18). Just know one thing for sure, Jesus has already defeated the devil on your behalf, you are fighting a won battle so long as you remain with Jesus.

Key Point:

If there is no sin in your life, the devil has no power over you.

Hymn 16:

  1. Christian, seek not yet repose
    Hear thy gracious Savior say;
    Thou art in the midst of foes:
    Watch and pray.
  2. Principalities and power
    Mustering their unseen array
    Wait for the unguarded hours:
    Watch and pray
  3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
    Wear it ever night and day;
    Ambushed lies the evil one:
    Watch and pray.
  4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
    Still they mark each warrior’s way;
    All with one sweet voice exclaim,
    Watch and pray.
  5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
    Him thou loves to obey;
    Hide within thy heart His word:
    Watch and pray.
  6. Watch, as if on that alone
    Hung the issue of the day;
    Pray, that help may be sent down:
    Watch and pray.
