UNDERSTANDING YOUR FREEDOM
John 8:32 & 36, Romans 6:18-19, 22 (LB)
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. *If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. *And now you are free from your old master, sin; and you have become slaves to your new master, righteousness. … just as you used to be slaves to all kinds of sin, so now you must let yourselves be slaves to all that is right and holy. *But now you are free from the power of sin and are slaves of God, and his benefits to you include holiness and everlasting life.

You are completely free from sin and the power of the devil (Heb.2:14-15) because of Jesus. You are free indeed because when Jesus set you free, it was a complete and perfect freedom. It was not a partial one. Sin and the devil are not more powerful than Jesus. Jesus was tempted in every way when He was on the earth, but He did not sin (Heb.4:15). Right now, He has given you that same power by which he exercised victory over sin.
To be free from sin does not mean to be free from temptation. Even Jesus was tempted. He had the same body we have and he could have fallen for the temptations but He refused. If there was no possibility for Him to fall, then it would not have been called a temptation. To be free from sin is to be free from the dominion of sin. Sin does not have dominion over you anymore. You now have eternal life (the life of God) and you now have a choice. As a believer, you are no more a slave to sin. Therefore, if any believer falls into sin, it is not because sin has more power or dominion over him or her, it is because the believer chose to fall into that sin. Sin has dominion over every one who is not saved. Sin is their nature and they have no other choice than to sin. But you are different. You now have a choice and you now have power over sin. You need to know the truth of what Christ has done for you so that you can walk in the full experience of it. As you renew your mind with the truth of what Christ has done for you, your life will be transformed, (Rom.12:2). This is your reality right now. Sin is no more your master. Therefore, stop yielding to it. You have a new master now and He has given you His life and made you a master over sin, (Rom. 5:17). Yield to your new Master and live your real life (Phil.2:13).
Faith Declaration:
I am completely free from sin, the devil and all evil because Jesus has set me free. I now have a choice. I have power over sin.
