MESSAGE:
The rate of decadence in this age and time has eroded many beliefs that were taught and passed on to my generation by our forefathers. One of those beliefs is purity till marriage. In those days, the brides family could be asked to refund the bride price paid to them if on the wedding night, the groom finds out that his bride is not a virgin. However strange this might be to you, child, virginity till marriage is not old fashioned. Don’t be deceived, there is great pride in being a virgin till you get married because you will earn the respect of whoever you marry including that of his family.
According to our memory verse, God expects you get married at the right time undefiled with any kind of sexual sin; be it masturbation, petting or fornication, because it’s not until you engage in sex with the opposite sex that you get defiled. Whoever masturbates is defiling his body, the temple of God. Also, note that virginity is not restricted to females. The Bible enjoins everyone, both males and females to flee fornication and youthful lusts. Getting married as a virgin is what God expects of you.
Key Point:
Virginity till marriage is Gods injunction. Obey Him!
Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way,
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
2 Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away,
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3 Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay,
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
4 But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows,
And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5 Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
