Visions of Increase

Genesis 13:14-15 (NLT), Isaiah 54:2-3 (NIV)
After Lot had gone, the LORD said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. *“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.

One of the things that God does when He wants to bring increase into your life is to give you a bigger vision. Many times, we are the ones that limit God and the increase He wants to bring into our lives, because we do not see the possibility of God causing such increase to manifest in our lives. In the New International Version, Ephesians 3:20 declares, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” In the sight of God, what you can imagine is as important as what you ask for.

What areas of your life do you see God bringing increase and expansion into? God wants you to see it first. See it on your inside first. God wants you to be specific about what you desire this year. Jesus met a blind man and asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51). God wants you to write down the vision He is laying in your heart and make it plain. As you do this, you will be able to cooperate with God and run with the vision and it shall come to pass, (Hab.2:1-3). Your vision will affect your behaviour and every area of your life. Your vision will make you always have an expectant countenance and attitude and your vision will make you push yourself forward as you prepare for it.

Do not limit God with any small desire or vision. Raise your vision. When you ask God for big things, it does not diminish Him. Ask yourself, “What will Christ ask for or expect in this area of His life?” All things are possible with God and He has big and great things in store for you this year. See God doing new things in your life.

Action Point:
Take a moment to imagine and write down the kind of increase you desire in specific areas of your life, then pray and ask God for them.
