Wait on God

Psalms 27:14 (KJV, GNB), Proverbs 20:22 (NKJV, GNB), Isaiah 40:31
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. *Trust in the LORD. Have faith, do not despair. Trust in the LORD. *Do not say, “I will recompense evil”; Wait for the Lord, and He will save you. *Don’t take it on yourself to repay a wrong. Trust the Lord and he will make it right. *…they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

To wait on God is to trust and yield yourself to God. There are many situations that we face that tempt us to stop trusting God and yielding ourselves to Him. When we trust and yield ourselves to God, we are showing Him that we have confidence in His love, in His word, in His plans for our lives and in His power and wisdom. God cannot lie and God is not slow. He makes all things beautiful in its time. Never be discourage by what looks like a delay or disappointment. All things are working together for your good and according to God’s purpose for your life. Trust in God and keep yielding yourself to Him. The fact that you do not see what God is doing does not mean that God is not working.

Do not lose your joy and do not allow any external pressure to cause you to act in the wisdom of the flesh. Instead, wait patiently for your Isaac. Don’t compromise and don’t reduce your faith and commitment to God. Keep your head up, keep your eyes on Jesus and on God’s great and precious promise to you.

There are so many wonderful blessings ahead of you and there are so many wonderful benefits of keeping your trust in God. As you keep trusting God, you will be stable and strengthened. “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” (Psa.125:1.) As you keep your trust in God, you will experience divine refreshing and flourishing. You will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, you will be shielded from dryness, your leaves will remain green and you will remain fruitful (Jer.17:7-8). As you trust in God, He will keep directing you (Prov.3:5-6).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, my trust is in you. I thank you for your love, your promises, your plans, your wisdom and your power at work in my life.
