Daily Devotional: 08th October “WALK WORTHY”

READ: Colossians 1:3-10

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, …that ye might WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD UNTO ALL PLEASING, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; – Colossians 1:9-10

After you are born again, you must show that you’re worthy of your salvation by being fruitful.

God expects you to bear fruit to prove that you are worthy of your salvation. Every tree that is planted occupies space and it expected to produce fruit. I planted two mango trees from Guinea in my house.
I carried them all the way from Guinea. I paid for their transportation. I protected them from withering and drying up. For many months, I ensured that they were watered. I prevented all those who wanted to discard those seedlings from doing so. As I speak today, those two seedlings are not showing that they are worthy of their salvation. They have produced no fruit. It has been five years of investment and I see no signs that these two trees are worthy of their salvation. I saved them from Guinea and brought them to Ghana and yet there is no sign that they appreciate my great efforts.

Apostle Paul was a blasphemer and injurious to the cause of Christ. God considered that he would be faithful if He saved him. This is the reason why God saved him. God is expecting you to be faithful! He is expecting you to be correspondingly grateful to Him for His great love for you. That is what it means to be fruitful.

According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. And I THANK CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD, WHO HATH ENABLED ME, for that HE COUNTED ME FAITHFUL, PUTTING ME INTO THE MINISTRY; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:11-14
