WALKING IN LOVE IS WALKING IN THE SUPERNATURAL

1 John 4:7 (LB, NIV), John 13:35

Dear friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are loving and kind show that they are the children of God, and that they are getting to know him better. *Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. *By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

In the King James Version, our first text above says, “…love is of God…” Verse 8 then goes on to state that, “God is love”. Love is a very wonderful and supernatural thing. God’s kind of love. God’s entire nature, essence and personality are summarized in one word – Love. As such, when we are manifesting this God-kind of love, we are manifesting/revealing God and manifesting the supernatural. The world is desperately in need of this God-kind of love and God is depending on you and me to express Him and His love to our world.

We cannot manifest the God-kind of love without first receiving it and Having God’s life in us. We must therefore be very deliberate about focusing on and being conscious of God’s great love for us always.

Love is also a major key to manifesting the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. After talking about the gifts of the Spirit in 1 Corinthians 12, in the last verse, Paul said, “But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.” In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul then began to talk about love. Your motive for manifesting the gifts and power of the Spirit must always be love. The love of God for you and your desire to manifest that love to others. Love makes you flow in the supernatural and without love, whatever you do is nothing before God.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me your nature of love. Please fill my heart with more of your love. May your love motivate me.
