WALKING IN LOVE LIKE CHRIST

Ephesians 4:31-32 (NLT) Eph.5:1-2 (NLT)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.*Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ….

A major desire and vision you should have for your life as a believer is that you will walk in love just like Christ does. I want you to imagine for a moment what your life will be like when you are deeply conscious that God the Father loves you the same way He loves Christ and you are also loving people the very same way that Christ loves you and the entire world.

Jesus wants you to love others as He loves you (John 15:12) because you have His life in you. God will never ask you to do something He has not empowered you to do. As we love people like Christ, people will know we are His disciples and come to know Him too, (John 13:35). You must therefore have the desire to walk in love just like Christ does.

To walk in love just like Christ, you must continue receiving the love of God the Father. You do this by filling yourself with the revelation of God the Father’s great love for you. You must also keep yielding yourself to the leading of the Holy Spirit. As you yield to Him, He will cause the seed of God’s love in you to mature and produce fruit, (Gal.5:22-23, LB). Just like Jesus, let your love for people be done as a pleasing sacrifice unto God. The Bible says Christ “…loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God,” (Eph.5:2b).

Prayer:
Father, help me know that you love me the same way you love Christ and help me love people the same way Christ loves them.
