WALKING IN THE GLORY OF THE RESURRECTED CHRIST

Romans 6:4, 1Corinthians15:47-49 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: *The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. …And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

After Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, He repeatedly appeared to His disciples because He wanted them to be able to testify, first hand, of His resurrection. Although Apostle Paul did not physically see Jesus after His resurrection like the original disciples did, he received a revelation of Christ which did not pale in comparison with what the other disciples experienced. He received this revelation from the Holy Spirit as He mediated on the revelation of Christ. One of the assignments of the Holy Spirit is to reveal Christ to us and to form Christ in us. The Holy Spirit that gave Apostle Paul that powerful revelation of Christ will give you a powerful revelation of Christ also.

Something glorious happens to us every time we behold the glory of Christ. John 1:14 says, “and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.” As we behold His glory, we become transformed into His image from glory to glory, (2Cor. 3:18). We begin to focus less on ourselves and more on who we are as joint heirs with Christ. From the fullness of His glory that you behold, you will experience grace upon grace for every area of your life, (John 1:16).

Every veil on your heart will be removed and you will clearly see the present glory of Christ, which exceeds that which He had before His resurrection. As you are being transformed into His image from glory to glory by the Spirit of God, remember that as He is, so are you in this world, (1John 4:17). As you see Christ more, you will be empowered to walk in His likeness and in newness of life.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask that by your Spirit you reveal the glory of the resurrected Christ to me and cause me to walk in that glory.
