WALKING IN THE REST OF GOD

Psalms 23:1-6 (GNB)

The LORD is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water. He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised. Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, LORD, for you are with me. … You prepare a banquet for me, where all my enemies can see me; you welcome me as an honored guest and fill my cup to the brim. I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life…

To walk in the rest of God is to live your life and go about whatever you are doing with a sense of joy and peace, because you are following God’s leading and you are experiencing His blessings. God is your Shepherd. He is concerned about every area of your life and He always wants to lead you into His abundant blessings and provisions for every area of your life.

The beginning of walking in the rest of God is seeing all your needs met in God. David said, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need.” Together with Christ, God has freely given you all things, (Rom.8:32). God has given you all that pertains to life and godliness (2Pet.1:3) and God has blessed you with all spiritual blessings for every area of your life, (Eph.1:3). In Joshua 6:2-5, God told Joshua to see that He has given him Jericho, the king and the army. God then gave Joshua direction on what to do to receive what He had already given him. Until you see that your needs are already met in Christ by God, you will not be able to trust Him and follow His leading to receive and experience them.

When you are walking in the rest of God, you will work hard and be excellent as is expected of you, but you will not struggle and experience frustration like other people are doing. The blessing of the Lord makes rich and He adds no sorrow (struggle or frustration) with it, (Prov.10:22). Instead of worrying about anything, you will pray about everything with thanksgiving (because it is done already) and God’s unbelievable peace will fill your heart, (Phil.4:6-7, LB). God will lead you with His peace. You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace, (Isa.55:12a).

Faith Declaration:
In Christ, all my needs are met and all my bills are paid. I refuse to be anxious about anything. God is leading me into His abundance!
