WAYS WE GLORIFY GOD IN OUR BODIES

Romans 12:1 (CEV), 2Timothy 2:21 (GNB), 1Corinthians 10:31

…God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God. *Those who make themselves clean from all those evil things, will be used for special purposes, because they are dedicated and useful to their Master, ready to be used for every good deed. *When you eat or drink or do anything else, always do it to honor God.

When an animal is to be offered as a sacrifice to God, the animal is usually killed and burnt, (Gen.22:1-13). The way to be a living sacrifice is to realize that though you are alive, you are actually dead because you died with Christ on the Cross and now it is Christ that is living through you. You must also allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to continually burn in your heart, consume and direct every area of your life. The way is for you to no longer live for yourself but for Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was by the Spirit that Jesus offered Himself without spot to God, (Heb.9:14). Some versions say, “By the Spirit, Jesus offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to God.”

Two major ways we glorify God in our bodies are by living holy unto God and by doing exploits for God. We must abstain from sin and all appearance of evil (1Thes.5:22). We must stay pure in our thoughts, words and actions. We must preach the Gospel and manifest the life and power of God, (Mark.16:15-18). We must do signs and wonders, (Acts 10:38).

We must show love unto others (Matt.25:33-36) and let our light so shine by doing good works that men will see and glorify our Father in Heaven, (Matt.5:16). We must use our talents and abilities to serve and glorify God and we must also exercise our bodies and live healthy lives (1Tim.4:8). We can do all these by the help of the Spirit.

Prayer:
I offer my body as a living sacrifice to you Lord. Empower me by your Spirit to live a holy life and to do exploits for you.
