We are Unstoppable

Acts 8:1,4-6,8 (LB) Paul was in complete agreement with the killing of Stephen. And a great wave of persecution of the believers began that day. Sweeping over the church in Jerusalem, and everyone except the apostles fled into Judea and Samaria. 4 But the believers who had fled Jerusalem went everywhere preaching the Good News about Jesus! Philip, for instance, went to the city of Samaria and told the people there about Christ. Crowds listened intently to what he had to say because of the miracles he did. 8 So there was much joy in that city!

The killing of Stephen by Saul began a great wave of persecution of believers and many believers had to flee. Some versions indicate that the believers were scattered abroad. Now, despite the fact that the believers had to flee, they were not intimidated and discouraged to the point of giving up their faith in God or ceasing from spreading the gospel. The Bible says that they went everywhere preaching the Good News about Jesus. Halleluyah! That same zeal and passion is upon you and me today and it will spread to all other believers. Although the threats and persecutions against preaching the gospel and standing for God and His will seem to be increasing, our zeal and passion are also increasing. The fire in our bones for preaching the gospel., living right and standing for God’s will cannot be quenched by anything or anyone. More souls are going to be saved and more lives are going to be changed.

All things work together for our good (Rom. 8:28) and the devil remains ignorant of God’s wisdom. The devil did not realise that killing Jesus would lead to the spread of the very same Jesus that he was trying to stop. Similarly today, every threat and persecution towards us will only lead to a greater impact and spread of the gospel and the good will of God. All that Joseph’s brothers did to him only helped to prepare and position him in the palace to fulfil God’s will and purpose for his life, Gen. 50:20. In the same way, Apostle Paul’s imprisonment and all that happened to him served to accelerate the furtherance of the gospel both within and outside the prison, Phil. 1:12-13. God will always cause us to triumph and through us, He will spread the fragrance of the gospel of Christ in every place, 2 Cor. 2:14.

Prayer:

Pray for greater boldness upon all believers to preach the gospel and stand for God’s will wherever we are. Declare that God’s kingdom is advancing.
