Weakness Precedes Strength

“Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

2 Corinthians 12:10

When I am weak, then I am strong. What a paradox! How can this be? Sidlow Baxter tells the story of a remarkable woman with an equally remarkable ministry. Due to a childhood of extreme medical difficulties, she had no legs or arms. But thanks to the creative work of a friend, she was outfitted with specialized equipment that allowed her to write. For many years she wrote letters to encourage others and to share Jesus. Thousands came to Christ. When asked how she could possibly do what she did and maintain such a ministry, she simply replied, “Jesus said, ‘If you believe in Me, out of Me will pour streams of living water.’ So I believed.” Jesus can take that which is the weakest area of your life and make it the strongest. Believe that God will use your weakness to exhibit His strength, and watch the living water flow through you.
