What a Collection!

“Thou hast taken account of my wanderings; Put my tears in Thy bottle; Are they not in Thy book?”

Psalms 56:8

People collect all kinds of things, from baseball cards, to antiques, to stamps or coins. But do you know what God collects? According to this verse from Psalm 56, God collects our tears. He has a bottle with your name on it, and that bottle contains every tear you have ever shed. Did you know that? Isn’t that terrific? Isn’t this a wonderful word picture, a wonderful illustration of how much God love us.

He collects our tears, and He comes to those in His family and He says, “I will comfort you. I will come alongside you and give you strength in times of sorrow.” God collects our tears, and these tears of mourning and sorrow are precious to him. What a comfort to know that our Heavenly Father is a “tear collector.”
