When the Love of the Father Is In You
Philippians 1:8 (NLT), 1 John 2:15-17 (NLT)
God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. *Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
When you receive the love of God and you are deeply conscious of the fact that He loves you the very same way He loves Jesus, it will change your life forever. There is a special kind of wholeness and completeness that will come on you and will overflow from your life into the lives of others. The Bible assures us that receiving the love of Christ fills us with the fullness of God (Eph.3:19). You will begin to see people the way God sees them and you will love them the way God loves them.
You will also begin to love the things that God loves and hate the things that He hates. You will set your affliction on things that are above and not on things on the earth that are passing away (Col.3:2). The things of this world will not excite you anymore. Instead, you will rather bask in the love and the glory of God. You will want to draw near to God and know Him more and more. When the love of the Father is in you, you will love Jesus and you will long and thirst after the revelation of Jesus. Like Apostle Paul, you will count everything else as dung when compared with knowing Jesus and becoming like Him (Phil.3:8-11).
When the love of Father is in you, just like Jesus, you will long to see people receive the gospel and get saved. You will have the same compassion that God has for the souls of men and you will long for people to know and experience the love of God’s life and power. When the love of the Father is in you, your life will also be filled with faith. Your understanding and receiving if the perfect love that God has for you will drive out every fear from your life (1 John 4:18).
Faith Declaration:
The love of the Father in me makes me love what God loves and hate what God hates. This love has driven out every fear from my life.
