When You Know Better (2)
by Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman
BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 25-27
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh forward things. Proverbs 2 :10 -12
Rhema for Living 5 March 2022 Devotional MESSAGE
Severally, people claim to know better in respect of the titles and positions they occupy, but their words and actions speak otherwise. In the kingdom of God knowing better is thinking, speaking and acting better in consonant with the word of God. In other words, whoever that says or does anything or takes any decision that contradicts the counsel of God in His word does not know better.
Saul was highly placed in Israel. He was the king on the throne, but David, a servant under him had more understanding than him. And because David knew better than him, however Saul came out after him to cut short his life, he failed. David was sensitive to know that with Saul’s attempt to take his life twice which he escaped from (1 Sam. 18:11), he would seek occasion against him to do so.

Hence he behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. And Saul saw he behaved himself very wisely and was afraid of him. 1 Sam. 18 :14 – 15.
Still in verse 30; scripture reports that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was much set by. All through his dealings with Saul, because he knew better, his wisdom and understanding in the ways of God defeated Saul.
He had occasion to kill Saul, yet he did not, saying, “The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S Anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.” 1 Sam. 24 :6. A man who lacks understanding, will not see the oil on his hand, neither recall that he’s his master.
Child of God, when you know better, you will behave better.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, by your grace, no more will I display lack of knowledge.
