WHERE OUR VICTORY IS HINGED (2)

John 16:12-14 (LB)

“Oh, there is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t understand it now. When the Holy Spirit, who is truth, comes, he shall guide you into all truth, for he will not be presenting his own ideas, but will be passing on to you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He shall praise me and bring me great honor by showing you my glory.

When Jesus was on the earth, He wanted His disciples to know Him and He revealed and demonstrated so many things to them. He however told them that there was still so much more about Himself that He wanted to reveal to them, but somehow, they could not receive it at that moment. He then gave them hope that through the Spirit, all those things will be revealed to them.

This tells us that the knowledge of Christ that we need to walk in victory and the fullness of God’s glory, power and blessings for our lives is more than the things Jesus said and did in the Mathew, Mark, Luke and John when He was on earth with the disciples.

In our study yesterday, we saw that one of the things God revealed to Peter about Jesus was that He is the Messiah or Saviour. A major dimension of the knowledge of Christ is the knowledge of His redemptive work (all He did to save us) which is made available for us. These are the things the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to us and was leading the prophets of the Old Testament to study and prophesy about. They are so glorious that even angels long to understand them, (1Pet.1:10-12). These are the things explained in the epistles.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask that by your Spirit, you will reveal more about the redemptive work of Christ to me.
