Why you’re never beyond the grace of God

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

I know a dear couple, who married, settled in Florida, and seemingly had a good life. But they were without God and living their own life for themselves. So one day, the husband came home and found his wife in the embrace of another man. She told him, “I’ve been meaning to tell you; I’m leaving you.” So she left, they divorced, and their marriage was over just like that.

But someone who cared about that man brought him to church one day. It was there he heard that God loved him, that Christ died on the cross for his sins, and that he could have eternal and abundant life in Jesus Christ. So he came forward that day and received Christ as his Savior! I can truly say I’ve never seen a person so quickly transformed by the power and the grace of God.

So immediately he had a burden for his ex-wife because God had given him a new love for her despite her unfaithfulness. Over time, she also came to Christ through his love, and her life was changed as well. And it wasn’t long before I stood with them at the altar and reunited them in marriage!

I’m sure that many people looked at the thief on the cross that day and saw someone who was beyond the grace of God. But with Christ, it’s never too late for a new beginning. So no matter how far it seems you are from God, he’s longing for you to turn back to him!

NO MATTER HOW FAR IT SEEMS YOU ARE FROM GOD, HE STILL LOVES YOU AND INVITES YOU TO TURN BACK TO HIM!
