Nadab and Abihu were in the imperfect will of God when they offered a sacrifice that God had not asked for.

Offering sacrifices to the Lord is a good thing to do. And that is exactly what Nadab and Abihu did. They offered sacrifices to the Lord but God was not pleased with them. They actually died because of this. Once again, we see people doing good things but receiving punishment for it because it was not the perfect will of God.

“And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord” (Leviticus 10:1-2).

Abraham also entered the imperfect will of God when he produced an heir through Hagar: Genesis 16:1-6.

Abraham introduced all kinds of problems into his life by having a child with Hagar. God did not tell him to have a child with Hagar but he wanted to please his wife.

God allowed him to marry Hagar and even blessed Hagar’s child. But that was not the perfect will of God. God had told him that He was going to make him the father of many nations through Sarai.
