“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea in the days of Herod the king, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.’” – Matthew 2:1-2
There are a lot of wonderful stories that surround Christmas. We know them from childhood. One of these that I love so much is of the Magi, the Wise men who came from the East to follow the Star that marked the birthplace of Jesus. Somehow, in the mystery and the providence of God, these wise men determined that the time was near. Their calculations indicated to them that God Himself would soon visit the earth.
They had a vision that God would visit this planet, and that vision sustained them as they traveled. They sensed that if they could know that God and worship Him, it would give new meaning to their lives.
Christmas gave the wise men a vision – and it changed their lives. This Christmas, ask God to help you find your purpose and meaning in Him. Get to know Him, worship Him, and everything in your life will change from this day forward.
