“On the next day, we who were Paul’s companions departed and came to Caesarea, and entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him.” Acts 21:8 (NKJV) When you got saved, God deliberately planted you in a local assembly for a purpose because every congregation has a specific assignment. Yes, you are a member of the Body of Christ, but you also need to go a step further to belong to a local body of believers – a smaller unit where you can enjoy fellowship, ask questions, be taught and helped in the journey of faith. If you are struggling to understand it, let me ask you: why is the world divided into continents and from continent to country and from country to states, counties or councils as the case may be? After all, we are all God’s creation. We have the division to make administration easy. The same is true with the Body of Christ. We are all saved. We are all members of the Body of Christ, but He further sends us into smaller units to be nurtured.
Just the same way you do not choose the family you are born into; you do not choose the church to belong. Seek God’s face and He will direct you to the place that will help nurture the gift of God in you. That is why all members of TREM are believers, but not all believers are members of TREM. Because as TREMites, we have a unique assignment. God has called us to carry out an assignment and has brought you our way to support us to see the assignment fulfilled. There are several benefits of identifying with a local assembly. You cannot sit on the fence and expect the blessing of the family. No, it does not work like that. God has brought you to the family to belong, so roll up your sleeves and let us build together. Paul had companions, what about you?
