You Are an Important Part of God’s Plan

Exodus 17:9, 11-13(GNB)

Moses said to Joshua, “Pick out some men to go and fight the Amalekites tomorrow. I will stand on top the hill holding the stick that God told me to carry.”*As long as Moses held up his arms the Israelite one but when he put his arms down the amalekites started winning. When Moses arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on while they stood beside him and held up his arms holding them steady until the sun went down. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.

None of us can fulfill God’s purpose for our lives alone. We all need each other. We are a collective body. The bible instructs, “We have many parts in one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in Union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us….”(Romans 12: 4-6a, GNB).

If one part of your body is down and unable to function, your whole body will be incomplete and uncomfortable. In the same way if for any reason you are down and you are not playing your part as a member of the body of Christ, the body of Christ cannot be complete (Ephesians 4:16). Don’t despise yourself. Your contribution, no matter how little it may seem, is going a very long way in blessing somebody’s life. Don’t stop doing that which God has called you to do. Don’t allow anything to make you feel insignificant.

The fact that a part of your physical body is not visible does not mean it is not important. We actually value the weak and private parts of our body even more (1 Corinthians 12: 22 -24). God does not reward position. Instead He rewards faithfulness. Resist the discontent that a lack of appreciation or recognition may attempt to generate in your heart. Do not allow hurt and offences to disconnect you from playing your part in the body of Christ. Keep your eyes on He who has called you and chosen you. He who has called you is faithful and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). He will fulfill His word in your life. Your reward is with Him. Never feel like you are unimportant. You are important and you are needed as an indispensable part of God’s plan.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for making me an important member of the body of Christ. Please help me to keep playing my part faithfully.
