YOU ARE BIGGER THAN CRUMBS

“And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment too.”  Genesis 28:20 (KJV)

Why is it that it is believers that will always be at the back? Why should we be the ones coming behind? Why is it that it is what others have dropped as crumbs that we struggle for?
Why shouldn’t we set the precedence? We have the Word of God. We are filled with the Holy Spirit. Why should we be the ones struggling and making do with crumbs? Just give me the crumbs! It is enough!

Away with crumbs! You are bigger than that! You are bigger than mediocrity! If it doesn’t bother you, it bothers me. Jacob said, give me food to eat. Let me drink tea and wear clothes. And God answered him. God ensured that He gave him what he asked for. He had wives. He had children. He got cattle. He got gold. And he had food to eat in abundance. He got everything! But still, as far as God was concerned it was survival. It was still nothing compared with what God had purposed for him.

In Genesis 32, Jacob was going back to where God first met him. He now came to himself when the reality of the encounter he was about to have hit him. He tried to manipulate the situation with all he had. He realised that all the things he had could not help him. Then he said: “…I will not let thee go except thou bless me” (Genesis 32:26 KJV).

Child of God, it is not the things you have that matter. It is what you are carrying that produces things. So, Bro Mike what are you trying to say? I am saying that what you carry is bigger than peanuts. Yes, it is bigger than peanuts. Stop that mosquito mentality and vision. You have something bigger on the inside of you. God has earmarked you for bigger things.
