“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that ye should go and Bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you’’
John 15:16 KJV

Beloved it was God who chose you! It was not your choice. Amongst the over 7 billion people in the world, God chose you. God knows all about your weaknesses and strength, your good and your bad, yet He says ‘you are my chosen.’ He chose you in spite of what you have done in the past. Jeremiah’s conversation with God suffices. But God told him, “Before I formed you, I knew  you. While you were yet in your mother’s womb, I ordained you as a prophet to the nations’’. (Jeremiah 1:5). He chose him and the man was trying to make excuses for God. He  said ‘all your excuses are inexcusable.’

In the book of Exodus 3, Moses tried to talk God out of choosing him. He didn’t want to have anything to do with being a deliverer to God’s people. But God zeroed in on him and said ‘Moses, I have chosen you. Whether you can talk or not, you are the one.’

I want you to know today that you are the one God has chosen for His purpose. You may not be qualified but He has chosen you. You are God’s choice that will bring glory to His name.

Gideon was also a chosen vessel. Yet, according to the book of Judges 6:11, he was hiding from the Midianites. God said to him, ‘you are a mighty man of valour.’ Gideon said, ‘If God is with me where are those miracles?’ But God said to Gideon, ‘you are the one who is going to work the miracles now; rise up in this your might, you are the deliverer!’ Gideon also made excuses for himself even though God chose him. Don’t be like Gideon! Don’t tell your history; it doesn’t matter to God. What matters is what He wants to accomplish through you.  He has chosen you and He will reveal Himself in your life.
