YOU ARE GREAT IN GOD’S EYES

Psalm 87:3 (NIV), Matthew 5:14, 1Peter 2:9, Luke 17:28 (NIV)

Glorious things are said of you, O city of God: Selah *Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. *But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: *I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

When you understand how great you are in the eyes of God, instead of looking for things and people to make you feel great, you will be whole and complete indeed, you will walk in the grace and fullness of God’s greatness in you and you will allow God’s greatness in you to overflow from your life into the lives of others.

You are so valuable and special to God that God was willing to sacrifice Jesus just to get you. You are as valuable to God as Jesus is to God. God loves you as much as He loves Jesus, (John 17:23) and Jesus has sent you into the world just as the Father sent Him, (John 20:21). You are valuable and special to God because you have the life of Christ in you and you are a son or daughter of God just like Jesus.

Where you get your sense of worth and value matters a whole lot. When He was on the earth, Jesus Himself got His sense of worth and value straight from God the Father. 2Peter 1:17 says about Jesus that, “… he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” The first time God made this statement to Jesus in Luke 3:22, Jesus had not even begun His ministry or done any mighty works. God was pleased with Him not because of anything He had done, but because He had God’s life in Him. By your faith in Christ, you also have God’s life in you and God is pleased with you. You are valuable and special to God not because of the things you have done, but because of who God has made you and how God has chosen to see you.

Prayer Focus:
Worship God and thank Him for the great value and worth He has granted you in Christ. Declare that you are great and special to God.
