You are Planted in God’s Garden

Psalms 92:10-15 (LB)
But you have made me as strong as a wild bull. How refreshed I am by your blessings! I have heard the doom of my enemies announced and seen them destroyed. But the godly shall flourish like palm trees and grow tall as the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted into the Lord’s own garden and are under his personal care. Even in old age they will still produce fruit and be vital and green. This honors the Lord and exhibits his faithful care. He is my shelter. There is nothing but goodness in him!

One difference between a garden and a wild forest is the special care and nourishment that a gardener gives the plants in the garden. God beautifies and takes special care of your life the same way the owner of a garden takes special care of his or her plants. In John 15:1 & 5 (GNB), Jesus informs us that He is the vine, we are the branches and the Father is the Gardener. Christ is God’s garden. When you put your faith in Christ, God delivered you from the wild forest of the world (the power and influence of darkness) and translated you into His special garden (the kingdom of His dear son) (Col.1:3). In the same way a plant gets both stability and nutrients from the soil, your life is continually stabilized and nourished by the goodness, grace, power and life of God in Christ.

When you are conscious that God has planted you in Christ, God is always with you and God takes care of you. Your heart will always be filled with faith and with joy. “And now just as you trusted Christ to save you, trust him, too, for each day’s problems; live in vital union with him. Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him. See that you go on growing in the Lord, and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all he has done” (Col.2:6-7, LB). Let “… your roots go down deep into the soilof God’s marvelous love” (Eph.3:17, LB). Christ’s redemptive work in out lives makes us trees of righteousness and plantings of the Lord that bring God glory (Isa.61:3). Isaiah 58:11 adds, “And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”

Faith Declaration:
I am planted in Christ. God beautifies and takes special care of my life. The glory of Christ nourishes me and I flourish in all things.
