YOU CANNOT BE CURSED

Numbers 23:21-24 (MSG) He has no bone to pick with Jacob, he sees nothing wrong with Israel. GOD is with them, and they’re with him, shouting praises to their King. God brought them out of Egypt, rampaging like a wild ox. No magic spells can bind Jacob, no incantations can hold back Israel. People will look at Jacob and Israel and say, “What a great thing has God done!” Look, a people rising to its feet, stretching like a lion, a king-of-the-beasts, aroused, Unsleeping, unresting until its hunt is over and it’s eaten and drunk its fill.

It is sad to know that there are so many believers who think that after all that Jesus has done for them, it is still possible for them to be cursed or put under a spell by someone. Our text above shows us that the children of Israel could not be cursed. Balaam was hired by King Balak to curse the children of Israel because he felt threatened by them. Balak kept taking Balaam to different locations around where Israel was camping so that he could look at them from a certain angle and curse them. But no matter where Balaam tried to look and curse them from, he just couldn’t curse them. Instead he kept on blessing them, (Num.23:13 & 27).

Because of Jesus, we are in a better position than the children of Israel were in. We are now one with Jesus. No matter the angle from where anybody or anything may try to look at you and curse you, they will not succeed. If God has not cursed you, no man and no creature can curse you. By hanging on the Cross, Jesus became a curse for you and He took away every curse from you so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon you, (Gal.3:13& 14).

In Proverbs 26:2 (NIV) the Bible says, “like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.” A ‘fluttering sparrow’ refers to a bird that mistakenly flies into a closed room and finds people inside the room. That bird will not be able to rest. It will keep flying up and down until it finds a hole to go through so as to speedily escape out of that room. Because of Christ, that is what happens when anyone tries to curse you. The curse will not rest on you because who God has blessed, no man can curse. You are blessed you with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus, (Eph.1:3).

Faith Declaration:
I cannot be cursed or put under any spell. Jesus has taken away every curse from my life. I am blessed and empowered in all areas of life.
