YOU NEED A COMPANY

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 KJV

Everybody needs support in one way or the other. We need prayer support from our fellow brothers and sisters; that is what the church is all about. When one is crying, others are crying with him. When one is rejoicing, others are rejoicing with him. But if you don’t have company, do you know you can be coming to church and not be part of it?

When they ask you where you go to worship, you will mention a particular church. But then, which group do you belong to? Your answer is, “I just joined.” You are not part of the company; you are just attending. You might have been coming to church for about five years, yet you don’t belong to any group or department.  Don’t just attend church services; you must ensure that you also belong.

You see, God has put spiritual mechanism in place for us to help ourselves and to navigate the challenges we face in life. But if you are not connected to it, who are you going to blame?
In Acts 4:23-24,  the Bible recorded that Peter and John after being released, went back to their company and reported all that the chief priest and elders had said unto them.

Notice that they did not attempt to confront the challenge individually.  All of them prayed together in one accord. They understood the power of company. They knew that as a company, their voices could not be silenced; together, they were stronger.  This is why we must never trivialize our gathering as believers: “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-11. KJV)
